Kunun Aya (Tigernut Drink)


                                                                     Dried Ginger
                                                                   Chili pepper
                                                                Aki Hausa (Tigernut)


Tigernut (Aki Hausa)
Date (Dabino)
Dried Chili pepper
Dried  ginger


Soak the Tigernut overnight
Wash the Tigernut using a sieve so that the stones will be sieved out
Remove the seeds of the Date
Soak the Date for 2 hours
Cut the Coconut into small pieces
Drain out the water used in soaking the Tigernut
Add fresh water to the Tigernut
Add all the ingredients together and grind
Sieve the paste with a fine sieve (used in sieving Akamu)
Chill and Serve
